Cancellation & Refunds

  • In case your tour is cancelled due to bad weather, we will change trip date at no charge or provide full refund, less MMK5,000pp for village expenses + bank charges.
  • Cancellation 2 days or more before departure – full refund less bank charges.
  • Cancellation 24 hours before the tour starts – No refund

Changes

  • 2 or more days before departure – No fee
  • Date changes made 24 hours or less before departure MMK5,000pp for village expenses.
  • We reserve the right to change dates or cancel a tour due to weather conditions.
  • In the event of high winds, guests may have to sleep on the boat instead of the tents.

Policy Against Exploitation of Children 

  • We do not have school visits or volunteering with children during our tours.
  • We ask that if guests would like to help students in the village or at the monastery that donations be made to the head teacher or the head monk.

Health & Safety

  • The tour involves boat travel. Please inform our guides if you cannot swim before the tour.
  • Please wear life jackets at all times if you cannot swim. Please wear life jackets while riding small fishing boats.
  • Please do not lean on railings on the Living Irrawaddy Dolphin Boat. Please do not dive off the boat, as water levels can be quite shallow. Please walk carefully on the boat; no running please.
  • When getting on and off the boat, please hold on to the rail held by the staff. Please wait for staff to provide the railing before attempting to get on or off the boat.
  • Please wear a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the heat.
  • Please drink water to stay hydrated. Drinking water and reusable water bottles are available on the boat. Do not drink from the sink in the bathroom or from the wash basin in the village.
  • Please wash your hands before eating.

 

Participant Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Agreement

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the trip, related events and activities, participants acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

  1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for boat accidents, heatstroke, and stomach illness.
  2. Participants knowingly and  freely all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releases or others, and assume full responsibility for their participation.
  3. Participants willingly agree to comply with terms and conditions for participation. If participants observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, participants will remove themselves from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.
  4. Participants, for themselves and on behalf of their heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, release, indemnify, and hold harmless and hold harmless Living Irrawaddy Travel Services, its officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lesors of premises used to conduct the trip (releases), from any and all claims, demands, losses, and liability arising out of or related to any INJURY, DISABILITY OR DEATH I may suffer, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
